The current amendment to the Austrian Tobacco and Non-Smoker Protection Act (TNRSG) has created a dedicated legal framework for tobacco-free nicotine substitute products for the first time.
As we currently understand it, Wildkraut falls into this new product category. The regulation therefore covers not only products containing tobacco or nicotine, but also certain tobacco-free and nicotine-free substitute products.
The amendment was passed only shortly before the parliamentary summer recess. That leaves us just a few weeks to implement all the organisational, technical and legal adjustments.
As soon as we had sufficient clarity about the effects of the new regulation, we wanted to inform our customers transparently.
As an Austrian company, we naturally comply with applicable law.
Even though the very short implementation deadline poses a major challenge for us, we are doing everything we can to keep Wildkraut available in Austria in the future – from now on through bricks-and-mortar retail.
